Hershey Pennsylvania has you covered this Holiday season with an array of fun family festivities. We went up to Hersheypark over the weekend and I cant tell you enough of how wonderful the trip really was.
Getting to Hershey
With planning things out this month I was hoping to be able to visit Hershey’s as I’ve heard its wonderful this time of year. Let me tell you they were absolutely right! We almost weren’t able to but I’m oh so glad we did. I would have been so bummed!
This was kind of a short trip but we managed to fit a lot in over the course of a few days.
A trip to Hershey is not a trip at all without a trip to Hershey’s Chocolate World. This time of year they have all kinds of festive displays, yummy Holiday Kisses, and lots of things we couldn’t resist getting for presents. Love the fact that this place was open even though the park wasn’t makes for a great stop before or after your weekend. That’s exactly what we did and it wasn’t crowded at all.
Hersheypark Christmas CandyLane
Luckily the weather was great and we picked a great day to go. Yes its was a little rainy but it didn’t affect any of the rides and I think it kept the lines down which was really nice. Going into the park we were greeted by a wonderful display of lights. A must do photo opportunity but don’t just stop there you have lots to see!
There were a bunch of rides open and even though the whole park wasn’t operational there was so much stuff to do. I was told a bunch of there larger roller coasters couldn’t run in the colder weather. They more than made up for it though as you could visit Santa, see the Reindeer and the stables and even go ice skating. As the sun continued to go down the park was illuminating and all I have to say is WOW, seriously, the lights in the park were so beautiful! I just had to stop and take a bazillion photos.
Hershey Sweet Lights
As it got darker it got colder. We made our way out of the park to our car and off we went. We didn’t get to far as we headed down to Hershey’s Sweet Lights. This was a few mile drive back to where we needed to go and I was almost certain we got lost. It was a life saver that we had a direction sheet provided by the park staff but still the location can throw a person off.
Upon getting to Hershey’s Sweet lights we were amazed at how well decorated it was. We were able to drive through in the comfort of our own car through a 2 mile long stretch filled with festive light displays. It was so nice being able to take our time and enjoy the displays we didnt feel rushed one bit and probably took a good 40 mins to drive through the entire thing.
Seriously there were displays one after another. We just couldn’t keep our eyes in one spot! We loved it so much and we think this is an absolute must do during the holiday season. This light display runs at $27 per car load and is operating now til January 1st 2019. This was well worth the experience and we will absolutely be back. Maybe even a holiday tradition so make sure to get there to check it out!
We love Hershey and our trips continue to get better and better each time we go. This trip was no exception as it definitely made our holidays so much merrier.
