Heading to the New Jersey Shore?

We love Ocean City! Its a great family town to visit when planning a trip to the New Jersey Shore, whether you are going to Wildwood, Cape May or Ocean City, there is so much fun to be had. One of our favorite spots is Ocean City, NJ mostly because we have so many memories there. Our first house and our daughter was born here, so it hold a special place in my heart. Not to mention one of the top family destination in New jersey. They have been awarded Top Beach, Top Boardwalk and many other Awards you can view HERE.

There’s some must do’s while you are there! The beach and boardwalk would be the first place to check out. There’s all sorts of little boutique shops, food and amusement rides. The best part the beach is literally right there. You can go put your toes in the sand, soak up some sun and then go out for some food. In my opinion there’s nothing like a slice of Manco & Manco pizza.

Another favorite spot in Ocean City is Jilly’s Arcade.

Jilly’s Arcade has a great selection of new and retro games such as pin ball machines,  racing games and our favorite the 10 cent skeeball. They also have quarter rides for the little kids, claw machines and if you get the chance Jilly’s has a stand in the front with some of the best lemonade on the boardwalk.

Let’s not forget a trip to the candy store!

New Jersey is known for their Salt Water Taffy. I did not know how good it really was until I moved here. Ocean city’s own Shrivers on 9th street has been there since 1898, they have a variety of fudge and saltwater taffy made in house. If you find yourself at Shrivers, they have a window in the back where you can see exactly how they make their Saltwater Taffy.

There are quite a lot of things to do in Ocean City.

From places to shop and eat on the boardwalk and throughout town to lots of amusement rides such as Playland’s Castaway Cove, Gillian’s Wonderland pier and OC Waterpark or you can also just have a relaxing day at the beach. Visiting Ocean City is always so much fun and these just happen to be some of our favorite spots and I’m sure you will love them too!

Sharing is Caring!

    1. Haha! It is a great town and one of the best places to take kids when going to the shore. I think we have to go there next time there’s a warm day!

  1. Gotta love the beach! My wife and I are moving down to the South Padre Island, Texas area this summer. Very informative. My top comment is for your website. It looks amazing. What format/theme did you use. I love the dropdown and just the whole design of it. Great work ! If you’d like to share how you made your website I’d appreciate the info. I’m not very tech savvy. Thanks

    1. That’s great! I have a brother that lives down around Corpus Christi. It’s not my cup of tea but its a nice place to visit. I used the free NEWS VIBRANT theme. I honestly had to watch several youtube videos and be part of the group to figure out most of what I needed to add. The theme itself is easy to use. I will be adding a Blogging Journey section to my website in the next week or two. Feel free to email me if you need anything!

  2. How fun! I have always wanted to go to Ocean City, and this post just makes me want to go even more! The Jersey Shore sounds like an awesome place to visit for sure! 🙂

    1. It is! My two favorite towns are Ocean city and Cape May. They are both great for younger family to go visit. Now if you want something a little less family oriented I would suggest Wildwood. Its still ok to visit and I like the ride piers on the boardwalk. People are not as great there probably due to all the bars.

  3. Nice article! I was in New Jersey one time when I was younger, however did not get to Ocean City. I’m a big pizza fan and that picture looks amazing. My wife and I may be planning a trip soon.

    1. Thank You! You should come visit. The middle of spring is usually the best time. Everything is open yet the crowd is smaller.
